Emeka moved to Canada from Nigeria and met Bineta who was already living there having moved from the USA a few years earlier.

 

Our love story began in October 2021 and from early conversations we discovered many shared beliefs and values which have been the bedrock of the relationship.

It hasn’t been a tale of all similarities though as Bineta’s love of the outdoors and discovering new places nicely balances out Emeka’s more reserved and home-loving personality. It’s been an interesting journey that has seen us visit over 7 countries across three continents already!

 

Some of our favorite memories together have been attending music concerts, football (it’s football not soccer), basketball, and tennis events, and tubing across a beach in Jamaica.

 

Emeka's proposal came almost exactly two years to the date we met and was in a beautiful little town somewhere in Southwestern Ontario where we had gone to celebrate the Canadian Thanksgiving with a

few close friends. Emeka had it all planned out with our small group and Bineta was completely caught off guard. She had assumed she was going for dinner with friends, not realizing she was about to walk into her proposal. Thankfully she was able to say yes through the tears!

 

We can’t wait to celebrate with you at our wedding ceremony in August!
